Been outside shooting one of my long bows and alternating between it and one of my recurve bows. Shooting pretty good today, only occasional flyer. Just destroyed another arrow. I guess this is good motivation to hit where I'm aiming and not have a flyer that'll get in the way.these shots taken at twenty one yards even though I've been ranging between twelve yards and forty.

This is the downside of a bag target. If an arrow "hangs" dont shoot, you will hit it everytime. :(

Here's a short video of me shooting today.I edited out all the arrow retrieval except the last two due to the time (over a minute each time) it takes to walk the twenty five yards or so, pull the arrows, then get back to do it again. So the video is only a minute and a half.
You know it's a good day in January when you can lounge around all day in your pajamas shooting your bows

Excellent shooting sir!! Do you just look at the target with both eyes open and let it fly? Never got into the instinctual stuff because I figured I would be terrible at it

Yes sir. I do just that. No aiming, just feeling it. I didn't realize it, but I cut out all the left handed shots in the video. I like to alternate between hands but I only have one bow that is good for either side. It's an old old bear grizzly at 47#, in the video I only ended up with the old OMP ADIRONDACK HUNTER LONG BOW

Good shooting Shaun, and if your ambidextrous shooting a trad bow, your a step above the pack my friend. To help explain your accuracy, you might not be aiming conciously, but your subconcious has learned 2 things. It sees the arrow in relation to the target and your hand/arm position. This technique can be very proficient, but as you likely know takes time and practice. Congrats, your loving traditional archery and hitting stuff to boot.

Haha. Yeah , when your able to finally hit stuff, it helps you love it more.I have to admit that I'm not as accurate at any real distance left handed. Maybe fifteen to twenty yards, but beyond that we're talking pie plate instead of teacup

Here's a quick video of me and my neighbor shooting instinctive with each hand. Didn't try to shoot far or even try to record great shots. Matter of fact, I completely missed my target on one shot.I just wanted to demonstrate changing hands. I'll probably grab some other video clips and put them together at some point of me making good shots with both hands from my saddle instead of from twenty yards on ground
