Anyone get out this weekend? I’m heading to MD for first hunt of the season Thursday, N PA opens on Oct 3. Then it’s game on.

Sat this morning, had two bucks come in, both decided to take the other path and angled away from me. Too bad. Still, excellent time outdoors.

This cool weather has been great for September.. I'm seeing movement all day long with cell cameras.

Same here, regular season will be Thursday. My reduction property usually pays off by now, but haven't had a shot at anything other than fawns. Don't think they will give us a point per spot??

I hunted 3 days in MD, mostly new for me public land. Didn’t see a thing. PA opens Saturday.

Ohio opened Saturday but had a weekend full of work. Hoping to go tomorrow night if I can finish chores.

So... Is most of our team hunting public or private? What neck of the woods and how was last year's harvest?
I hunt mostly private Northwest Indiana. Last year was two doe and a decent 8 point. Hanging in an Evo, mostly using bolts. Shooting Bear Moment

Combination public and private. Father-in-law has 50 acres that I’ve hunted for years up here in NE PA. Planning to hit the 25k+ acres of public land in the area hard this season. Also get down to central MD to hunt a couple times a year.

Last year killed a couple does and an 8-point out of the saddle.

Public and private down here. Had a weird year last year. Every single tree I climbed last year I would have a spike, a 4 point or both show up and stick their ribs out at me. Had a handful of small racked bucks inside 15 yards too, just couldnt get a mature buck in bow range. Was just off of them by a bit all year. Had a half dozen shooters in the 80-100 yard range but nothing closer. Ended the year with 4 doe's.
