which would include acting in an unscrupulous manner, since folks here typically advocate ethics in business

No fanboy here, I've got a mess of everyone's gear and can't understand all the hate for the group pushing the innovation. Just my 2 cents.
Now just wait for the moderator to delete your post. Shall we start a Timer? This probably won't be popular and maybe I'm in the minority but I'd figure I'd share my experience with Tethrd and the whole ONE stick debacle...
I've had some of their saddles, but saddle hunting wasn't for me and I went back to a stand. Skipped the gen 1 and waited for gen 2, when released I ordered 2 sets and sold 1 single stick, every stick I got was perfect and had no wobble. Sent all 5 i had in for recall and when they came back in about 2-3 weeks, 2 sticks had bottom step wobble to them. I emailed (and expressed my concerns, maybe not so nicely) and got a call back the next day, 4 days later I had 2 new sticks sent to me, with new stealth strips. Hard for me to complain about that...
I'm around manufacturers everyday on much larger scale than Tethrd. Things happen and are hard to control even when you're building some components yourself and buying others and assembling items "in house." Let alone getting all the build done overseas. I'm just having a hard time with all the talk that guys who's started here are now "just out to make a quick buck and don't care about people" talk. I'm sorry but running a really small business is tough enough, let alone a business with massive growth like Tethrd. It's easy to be a Monday morning QB now but let's remember this company was started with 2 regular guys who met on a forum. Maybe they've rushed things, pushed the envelope too far/too fast but I just don't believe they're doing it on purpose just to make money quick, if that was the case they'd have sold the company already (ex Hawk, many others in the industry.)

Was I out of line?? Not being a jacka$$ I’m honestly just curious
their One stick design was based off a user here that posted his build using a carbon fiber tube with one piece double steps/standoffs that encircle the tube just like tethrd's design...if i get bored i'll find the post but there is zero doubt that tethrd was inspired by that post
I'd be interested in seeing this stick. I had no idea someone else had already done the same thing with different materials.
This looks very similar also… it’s the new beast stick.humans might forget....but the internet and pepperidge farm both remember
DIY sub-1lb climbing stick adventure!
How are you attaching to the carbon tube? Any field tests yet? You're my hero.saddlehunter.com
tethrd guys are all over the thread commenting, if they didn't float the OP some money....then that's just wrong to me
There was another thread that described and drew out the comfort channels that ended up in the bridge loops of the Phantom.
I never understood the need for them myself.
Thank you.Their sewn products have mostly been fine, although some would argue that amsteel isn't the most appropriate material for how they use it.
Every mechanical product they've released has had safety concerns, and they haven't always been forthright in addressing them.
1st generation predator had a design weakness. They had "how to" videos posted on how to set it up in a tree...and those were silently ghosted once it became clear the platform wasn't up to it. Failures were shrugged off as "it's a positioning aid, not a stand". They'd replace platforms, but not before they broke, and only on request. Those needed a recall. I think they also failed in testing so they just revised the rating down...
In short they launched with a known defect that they refused to recall, on a "positioning aid" that their how-to videos showed Greg standing on with some slack in his teacher as he pivoted.
Gen1 one sticks were "held together with a structural weld" ... until they weren't. There was plenty of debate here on the viability of that before the sticks even shipped...so no way those failures would have blindsided them. Now this.
This is more concerning based on their history than as a one-off event. Lots of stick recalls out there from multiple brands. But I don't get warm fuzzies.

I'm glad I opened a dispute with citi. Finally got a response from tethrd today they issued my refund. Minus my shipping
Your safety recall leading to a refund means you eat the shipping not me.
Beyond done with these guys. Ridiculous
Their CC processor probably hit them with a chargeback fee for the dispute...so they passed it on...Really? I was refunded for shipping also…. And my stealth strips….hmmm
