I’m just about done with this forum. It’s not like I spent hundreds and hundreds of hours actually hunting from this stuff I’ve never told anyone they needed to buy our products. there are absolutely other options.

I thought flingin’s response was good - basically said it depends on what features you value the most. A solid, unbiased response if you ask me.

I thought your initial response was a solid response, and politically correct so to speak. With your vendor rep badge, signature line, and soon to be updated profile pic to a tethrd logo that last comment is completely unnecessary. I will delete it.

For the record, this thread should have been started in the Product reviews in the vendor section. This not saddle related, but platform related and vendor specific research..

I thought so too. Thanks for moderating and continuing to make a space for consumers with a vendor presence.

Also, those pics in this thread are super helpful!

I use a OOAL Ridge Runner, FWIW. I liked the size and price. My only issue (aside from the fact that it isn't weightless) is that it packs a little thick.

Hey man, i meant no offense. I was just joking around. I have learned loads from you greg and ernie. Sometimes i forget, just because ive watched hours of yalls content, yall dont know me. I do value yalls opinion, very much, ir i wouldnt watch your videos. Again im sorry for any offense ive caused.

It just depends on what size you think you’ll need or want. I don’t see the need for a bigger platform myself so I’d go with the Predator for packability. Everyone is different tho!

There is a small bias with a Jared @flinginairos but I think it is a fair and valued and reasonable comment . We all have bias.
I like the Tethrd guys and that softened my criticism of the mantis because of my interaction with these guys. I would say that makes me biased
I sure look forward to all the Tethrd gangs continued contributions to this site. That is why I post u tube videos that they cannot post. I am not pro staff and have clearly shown a dislike to some Tethrd products but not all. I have criticized the mantis because it is not for everyone and I don’t want a disillusioned new saddle hunter to be created. I really expect by Jared’s comments he feels the same way
That said a video that may be biased or even a sales pitch is helpful to me.
I like to hear both sides of all reviews and even biased ones We are all biased in some fashion.

Lets not turn this thread into another vendor issue thread, get it back on topic please. I addressed the issue and its time to move on regardless of your personal opinion.

Vendors do need to add a profile pic @flinginairos of their affiliation asap to help in the moving forward bringing us to a better place than it has been. We are working hard to make changes but need the support of everyone to continue in that direction.

Ok I don’t want a big platform. Some do. I like steps most of the time We are all different. And as Jared said not all products suit all people

For me the Predator was too narrow. I hated sitting with my knees locked together.

I cut down a Lonewolf tree stand that I found stuck to a log in a pile of timber at a hardwood mulch facility and made a platform that works for me. If I was to buy another commercial platform it would be the ridge runner as the ambush is out of my budget.

I used a gen2 predator all season, I have zero complaints. I really like it. I have size 14 and size was not a concern of mine. I can not compare it to the ambush, I have never put my hands on one. But the cost crosses that line of what I am willing to spend on a platform. I have had it in my cart plenty of times only to clear my cart, for me it is too pricey
