Where the skys are so blue!
I put together a monthly "New Gear" column for our magazine and we're in the process of creating our holiday gift guides. If y'all wanna do me a favor and also throw some customers towards the small businesses on here, post up some links to products that are the latest-and-greatest. Doesn't have to be saddle-specific; but anything outdoor-related that's new and interesting.

I just don't have time to keep up with it like I used to what with the crotch goblin and the new job. The irony of getting a job because you're knowledgeable and then not having time to be knowledgeable...

What’s the magazine?

What’s the magazine?

Mag seems like a sketchy to me, mainly just a bunch of articles by some Nicholas Williams character no one has heard of!

Keep at it bro, good for you!

Might not be what you have in mind but I just got a DJI Osmo phone gimbal and I wish I had bought one sooner. Bought it because if you’re filming from a treestand or blind it wil auto track the deer in frame, but it seriously stabilizes the camera, maybe you’re filming a track job for a buddy, maybe someone’s reeling in a bass, panning nature shots etc. I think for outdoorspeople that like to capture some memories on film it really improves what’s filmed.

I've been designing something similar in my mind all summer. That looks a lot nicer than what I was going to build. I was picturing two pieces of PVC, one inside the other, with staggered holes to put a pin through to adjust the length, and a bungee cord through the middle with a carabiner on each end to clip to the bridge loops so I wouldn't drop it accidentally.

I did my first 7-hour sit last fall. While I was hunting, I didn't feel any discomfort; the next morning was when I felt the effects of hip pinch.

Well this hip pinch eliminator is pretty slick! Super light, and it’s been tested by several saddle hunters in the field, so I’m assuming it’s pretty durable. I’ve only just got it so I haven’t done any long-term sets yet. Feels great though, so I’m assuming it’s as awesome as they report!

I bought one of their cameras intending to use for huntjng, and instead gifted to a friend.

Do you have any footage you could share?

Maybe it’s a thread on its own

kyler1945, haven't taken receipt of that camera yet. Are you sure you've sent it?? PM me if you need my address again.

Do you have a link to a particular model?

I don’t have much footage yet I’ve only had it a few days playing in the house and the yard, testing the active track and learning the functions. It used to be when I decided to film hunts that was ballpark +6-8 lbs and some volume in the pack so I did it less and less frequently. Thought this year with the phone and a small arm the extra <2lbs was worth trying, especially when I learned a gimbal can - in theory - hold the camera on the deer. I’m pairing with a CGM reach around arm, although now that I see Genesis 3Ds arms those look nice too, all around a pound. Once I get some field experience planned to relay that in a new or existing thread. Edit: some with / without gimbal comparisons on youtube though.

Ban of trail cameras on public seems to be picking up some traction.
Not a gadget. But hunting related.
