Met him a few times as a kid growing up in the 70's and 80's. He was a very good story teller and always had people laughing. The last time I saw him he had a portable oxegyn tank and told everyone not to feel bad for him because it was full of schnapps.
 
He did not start bow hunting but he sure promoted it. Brought about a big change.
