It looks like you have a lot of sewing experience with using the special edger foot that applies the edging while you sew. Do you think I need one of these to apply edging on my saddle build? So after going to my local 3D shoot and letting a few mates try out my Kestrel clone they are hooked and we decided or rather they did that I would make them a mesh saddle.
So I actually wanted to have a go as I already had loads of material and set on today.
I cut out a shape in paper and stuck it together so I had a pattern for all three
edged with brown grosgrain.
you can see just with the grosgrain how its already holding a cupping shape. I will use maroon seat belt webbing
now I have a question what size cobra buckles do you guys use, my kestrel i used a harness webbing and buckle so this will be my first time using them, regards wayne
To be honest it is hard work with it, i have found i have to tweek as I go, one of the three i am doing it all went wrong, fortunately it is where the webbing covers it anyway so it is ok.It looks like you have a lot of sewing experience with using the special edger foot that applies the edging while you sew. A raw edge binder is money. Well worth it in my opinon. It looks like you have a lot of sewing experience with using the special edger foot that applies the edging while you sew. Do you think I need one of these to apply edging on my saddle build?
I found one in my Singer 404 accessories box. I could use that. Where can I buy edge binding?A raw edge binder is money. Well worth it in my opinon.
Those tiny tan loops, are they your linesmans rope attachments? Are they sewn to the main webbing?well it's looking good, very nice to sit in very comfortable the mesh just hugs the ass, real nice lol.
amsteel arrived so spliced that and i think this will be the go to saddle now
Can't wait to fit the linemans I have to try it first, that can go on later I am too eager, I have just got to try it,this weekend

As squirrels says they are leg loops, I have not done the linesman yet, the leg loop webbing goes around the webbing and box stitched to secure, regards WayneThose tiny tan loops, are they your linesmans rope attachments? Are they sewn to the main webbing?
I used 40 tera polyester thread it’s very strong, just had a quick hang in next doors tree it is very nice, I really like mesh, the kestrel clone is great but this is the next level comfy, I am very pleased indeed, I was going to meet my friends for a practice hang to see if they want alterations but after that quick hang it’s on the money I will just do them all and get the linesman’s on, going to use a nylon air tube inside the tubular webbing to make it rigid but that is the only thing to do the saddle as is is perfect, I like the Amsteel bridge and prusik alsoDamn fine craftsmanship Wayne! What size thread did you use?
I didn't try it to be honest I just copied what others had done although when it came I thought it felt solid enough to grab but just buried it, I have some nice fids so they just slip up the inside really easy so it wasn't a hassle.I see you buried the amsteel all the way through itself like the actual utilibridge.
Did you happen to try just the amsteel prusik on the regular unburied amsteel? I am surprised to see that a 7/64 prusik grabs really well on an unburied 3/16 line. I did it just as a demo with what I had on hand. I am so pleasantly surprised with its strength and unburied simplicity that I'm going to test it out.
