I use it. Make sure you're tethered in. I think the entire system is rated for only 12kN

I've been wondering how that Beal Back-up line compares to the Bluewater 5mm Titan cord. It sounds like the Titan might be pretty stiff and might be tougher to keep compact. Sorry if this is hijacking, but does anyone know how these compare?

Yes the BW titan is pretty stiff, the beal BUL is much more supple. I haven't used the titan enough to know if it will soften up or not, it would probably be better to put a bungee or something on it to keep it compact

If the BUL is spliced, the break strength would be 10 kN, probably only around 6 kN if knotted. The Titan cover can be loosen, but with something like a hitch sliding on it, would soon stiffen up. There are many stronger options that don’t have a self abrading core of Kevlar.

Didn't like mine at all. I've tried 11, 9, 8, and 5. And I always go back to 11 with a ropeman. 5 is way to supple for use as a linemans imo. Plus I don't like the hitch. It lets out slack wonderfully smooth and way better than a ropeman. But taking it up, at least on mine is a pain. So much better on a ropeman
