Timber Tread

They look pretty cool but noise on the points of contact might be an issue. My biggest concern would be side pressure. All the shifting on the platform and locking your feet on off shot angles might reveal a flaw or two. Cold weather might be a concern as well as far weakening them structurally.

Yea you're right. It might be worth the investment in 1 or 2 to try them out and see if they would work. It would be just like riding a bike!

I have them, they are ok.. Was going to buy a couple more this year but could not find them anywhere. They will not work with all screw in steps, only certain ones. It's amazing the boxes and boxes of steps that accumulate the last few years trying to find the perfect damn thing to stand on with these saddles. So far for me, ( I think) the two set ups I use are the summit buck steps (when they don't squeak) or the EXPENSIVE Lone wolf small platform ( that they don't seem to sell anymore) , these two seem to have the largest surface area to stand on for me. Although I use the ratchet strap from strap works with 4 steps on them with every set up to move around the tree.

I buy the cheap screw ins when I can get them on sale. I use so many and the cost really starts to add up. I don't have too many problems with comfort standing on the steps but after a long time it can wear on you. Thats the price I pay.
