IMG_0073.JPG Ok....this needed a separate thread.

Just used the Treehopper Linesmans belt with the sit drag. I kept the Linesmans belt in place around the tree with the Linesmans rope on the outside of the sit drag bridge.

I was using a short bridge with the Tether at my chin. GREAT

If you adjust the tension just right you get an extra point of support from the belt which makes the sit drag much more comfortable. You can still move around the tree too.

You can also secure the sitdrag to the Linesmans belt while walking or climbing. Today I just tucked the whole bridge behind the front of the belt. But you could easily clip it to the D Rings

NICE

I have a Treehopper belt as well and also ditched the rope it came with for my own DIY linemans rope with Ropeman 1.

If you're looking for an alternative to keeping the lineman's belt attached while at height, consider taking it off at height and stowing it after you've hooked into your tethered bridge. Instead rotate the Treehopper belt 90 degrees (so one of the D rings is located at your anterior midsection). Than instead of taking the looped end of your tether and putting it in your tether carabiner, attach a prussic knot off the tail end of your tether and than use a separate carabiner to attach your Treehopper belt D ring to the prussic...simply adjust the length of the Treehopper-prussic to a comfortable length (i.e., minimize the distance you would fall before the Treehopper belt stops your fall). In short, you would have two prussics attached to your tether: (1) a prussic for your bridge and; (2) a prussic for your Treehopper belt should the bridge or bridge prussic fail.

Probably easier to keep one rope (tether) out of your way while shooting than three ropes (tether plus each side of the lineman's belt).
