Had trouble raising my main tether easily up the tree because the weight of the rigid seat and droop of the thigh strap when I stood on the foot tether. I figured I'd need a traditional saddle or keep climbing with my Steppladder steps.
Yesterday afternoon it came to me, suspenders, attached to the waist belt.
Proved to be perfect for the 2TC method, probably one stick as well, and it gets the weight off the hips when walking in. Win-win. I dont even tighten the waist band on the climb; loosened more than normal for pic.
Hangs a little to one side because of the tethers & lineman's belt in the pouch. Once I get my roll pouch sewn that will carry my rappel rope I'll hang it on the other side.

Also wanted to thank Ruckerduck for the measurements on his seat strap mod. This weekend I cut the original straps, sewed in a D ring on each strap end & built an 1/4" amsteel adjustable bridge; things are coming together!

Started using clip on suspenders after my third climb this year. Just made sense for saddle to hang down with steps and platform attached. Why have molle attachments if you can’t hang anything off of them?

flysar, could you show some more pictures of how you modified your TreeSuit? I have a TreeSuit also and am trying to figure out how to do some mods on it. Am especially interested in how you changed the staps.
Thanks,
Grits

The waist belt is original except I sewed (speedy stitcher) 1" tubular webbing on the right side (wearing) for use with the original lineman belt vs using designated d-ring that Treesuit shows wearing centered on your body. Elastic band centered in the back hooks over the white knob (chair leg glide) that is screwed to seat bottom (see original post). Also added pouch for 2 tether climb gear.
I cut and sewed d-rings on each side of the seat strap. Used 80lb test power pro braided fishing line. The adjustable bridge is 1/4" dyneema.
The suspenders are Carhart heavy duty adjustable that I had on hand. Makes attaching the waist belt so easy and supports the suit & pouch in transport.

Thanks so much for the pictures and information. I just might be able to do those exact modifications myself.

One more question. Could you show a closeup of how you changed the designated D ring for the original linemans belt?
Thanks again,
Grits

I did not change anything on the original D ring, still there. That single D ring & lineman's line with snap, per instructions, was positioned at the belly button when securing to the tree for the climb which made it difficult to get around steps while climbing. I sewed REI 1" tubular webbing into a loop & then sewed it to my waist belt in a position that keeps the factory D ring on my left hip and the webbing loop on my right hip like a traditional lineman's belt connection. I slid the tubular webbing loop over the belt before attaching for safety in case the thread holding the loop in place parted; the tube of webbing would slide on the belt strap vs part from it.

Thanks for the reply! Do you think you could show a picture of how you slide the tubular webbing over the belt. I think this is a great idea, I always have the trouble of getting around steps like you mentioned and have been trying to figure out what to do.
Thanks again for all the great info.

1" tubular webbing sewn to itself to form a loop large enough to slide over the 2" waist strap for the other linemans belt connection. I sewed it to the waist strap in a position good for my size.

Thanks for the picture, that clears up a lot for me. If you have any other pictures of your modifications I would love to see them. I think that I am going to finally be able to modify my TreeSuit now that you posted this information.
Thanks again and good hunting!
