Trophyline Ambush lite sizing question

I am getting ready to order the Ambush lite from TL and have read the sizing chart from top to bottom. Is the sizing in pant sizes? Or in waist measurement in inches? Each one puts me in a different size and I don't want to make the wrong choice. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
 
Unless your a bigger guy, 40” waist or bigger, go with the M/L. The L/XL is a big unit.

I should have listed my size. I’m 5’11” 220 lbs. I where 34-36 in jeans and my waist measurement is 39”. Also, do I need to compensate for layers. Kansas gets cold
 
Bumping this up...I'm also around the same size and curious what size to order
 
I'm hoping the L/XL will come around my hips more and allow for less pinch/pressure.
