Ok......
I guess this is a bad question since all the new saddles that are supposed to be out now but here goes....Anyone still hunt out of a trophy line saddle at all? I didn't know about the new saddles coming out and I sprang 3 months ago for an Ambush saddle and now i'm wondering if I just stepped backwards instead of forward. Thought about the 100 bucks less expensive than a kestrel and bought it. Hopefully I'll get the hang of Ambush. Thanks in advance for the responses!

I do! I was a Trophyline dealer for many years. As of last year, I was still using an almost 'stock' Trophyline. This year, I'm all TETHRD!! I say....enjoy your saddle & get the basics down. Maybe get a tree tether from 'TETHRD'. It's much better than the Trophyline tree strap. Hope this helps.

BigAl,
I have used Trophyline for roughly 20 years. The ambush model was the least desirable for me. Tethrd has introduced a mesh saddle without the discomfort found in the ambush. I recommend you give it a shot.

If you are tight on cash, like I was when I got started(I didn't even have a climbing method). You can make a tether pretty easily yourself. Buy some good rope, learn how to tie the knots and get some carabiners, preferably the ones that have a lock function, I like the screw only because they are cheaper than the auto-lock carabiners.

Thanks. I'm not sure I'll spring for a Tethrd this year knowing I'll probably not get my investment back on the ambush. I'm kinda stuck with it this year. I came into saddle hunting last year and bought a web......hot for early season. Saw the ambush saddle for sale and bought it. I'm kinda stuck with them. To much money to let sit or lose right now.

I do have a tether. I just need a rope man 1 to make it perfect.

Also bought some Stepps for platform. Hobbies can get a little pricey. LOL
This one especially! Funny thing is I sold my wife on my first saddle by telling her I wouldn't have to ever buy treestands again. And to be fair to this day I have yet to buy another tree stand. Since my my first saddle I've spent so much money on other stuff I'm surprised she hasn't drawn up the papers.

I’m all Trophyline all the time ! But def ditch the tree strap and get a rope tether from tethrd for sure. And a few ropemans! I have a mesh, leather and old school leather TL and love them.

Any mods other than the tether? Leg straps are kinda awkward. I think I foresee trouble with them if I wear bulky clothes. What's ya'lls take on that?

Have you done any modifications to them? Other than the tether, which is the first model. How bout the leg straps? Kinda awkward to me to deal with and I forsee some trouble with them if I wear bulky clothes.

Well I'll try again this way. Any mods on the Trophyline other than the tether? Leg straps are kinda awkward to me and I forsee trouble with them if I wear bulky clothes.

I had the camo neoprene one years ago I could never get comfortable with it but I did hunt out of it for along time. I went back and forth between that and my treesuit. Finally sold it and bought a Guido's Web but now I use my Kestrel.

I have kept all of mine 100% original. No mods at all. I find it super comfortable, I need the suspenders, the only thing that I would like to changed when/if they make a comeback is the the bridge and tether.
But besides the tether I have changed nothing

Mine was all original to but I think my problem was with hip pinch. Like I said I did hunt out off it alot . What a difference time makes just look at how adjustable the saddles are now. Ain't it great.

Same here. I’m so old school I have modded nothing on any of mine. I still use the tree strap.

This year I’m full Mantis/Predator to start and see where I am with TL.

And of course a fair amount of ground hunting. Zach from The Hunting Public and I love our ghillies too.

What kind of Ghillie do you have, or did you diy? I noticed the clear chest for bowhunting. I have a full suit that I have been looking to modify and simply haven’t had the time.
