Turkey vest for saddle hunting

Not sure how much these pictures show but perhaps that is a good point. In this vest I am carrying 3 modified helium sticks, platform, required straps, sit-drag, linemans belt and all of the other general bow hunting gear I carry everytime. This load out is very quiet, light and comfortable. I also like how everything is contained, meaning nothing strapped to the outside which could possibly fall off or snag.
I have that same vest....love it so much that I didn't initially want to ruin it by accident. Any issues with the sticks ruining the bag?

I have not had any problems but I take precautions to protect the interior. I sewed very basic fleece covers for my sticks and platform. So- the 3 sticks and my platform each just slide into their own fleece pouch which protects my vest from and tears and it also helps make everything even quieter. The mod cost about $5 and 30 minutes because I sewed it by hand.

Last year I tried using one of my old turkey vests in conjunction with my Guidos Web and even without the zip-off game bag, it worked only marginally well due to the webbing structure of the GW. Totally different story with the Kestral I'm running this year. It's very handy having all the readily accessible pockets.

I was using a old turkey vest and it worked great. I just got the tenzing tv and am looking forward to this weekend to try it it is great quality and I think amazon has them mismarked half the price of every place else

Been using my turkey vest in lieu of a backpack for better than 10 years. It keeps everything organized and where I can find it. Separate pockets for my binocs, rangefinder, camera and other gear. No time spent digging in the bottom of a pack for some loose piece of equipment.

The game pouch is big enough to comfortably carry my platform, WE stepps, or climbing stick depending on what I'm using along with my camera arm. I can easily climb with it on my back and then I can just pull the platform from the pouch when I get to height.

Once in the tree I hang the vest so it wraps around the tree, at that point all the big stuff I carry in the game pouch is attached to the tree and its empty so it lays flat. The pockets are oriented where I can reach them and there's no additional silhouette in the tree like a full pack.

Something I haven't done but occurred to me this year is I can leave the seat attached (I have always removed it for deer season) and it would make a great knee pad against the tree.

Which turkey vest do you use
