Wash poison ivy oils out of rope?

I am highly sensitive to poison ivy. I get it easily and then need a Corticosteroid prescription to get rid of it.Anybody ever worry about this? I'm in a tree right now and single stocked up. I know my rope has to be full of the oil.
If so what do you recommend? I know some chemicals can be harsh on certain materials.

To remove the oil I just use tide free gentle with hot water in my washing machine and run my gear through it at least twice but usually three times. Then hang dry anything that shouldn't go through dryer. This usually removes all the oil.

Dawn dish detergent. You can wash again with unscented, but the dawn will break up the oils much better than most hunting soaps.Anybody ever worry about this? I'm in a tree right now and single stocked up. I know my rope has to be full of the oil.

That must be a great tree to hunt out of. I would have passed and picked another tree.
I already had to go to the Doctor to get shots and Cpack. I got it real good. Oil all over my gear. I am being more careful what tree I climb. When I used a climbing stand I never had an issue I am aware of. No matter, I like saddle hunting and will work out the challenges.

Believe it or not, in my area, the trees that seem to have the best vantage point have vines all over them. I pass on trees with vines bigger than this.

I have gotten in the habit of cutting a 2-3” gap in the vines growing on any tree I think may be a potential stand tree for me. I do this during my post season scouting before they have put leaves back on. Typically they are dry as a bone by the time season rolls around.

I do this as well. Cut one year and hunt it the next if it still looks good.

I saw a video that made a lot of sense to me. It's not what you use that matters most (dawn, technu etc) it s HOW you work it. the poison ivy oils are like axle grease and it takes scubbing and elbow grease to get it off. I use dawn and one of those puff things to scrub down when I think may have been exposed. So far so good and in the past I could get it from looking at it.. I think the youtube was never get poison ivy again.
Your 100 percent right. It is like grease. You have to wash like you were working on your car and trying to get you hands clean. Scrub scrub and more scrubbing.
Saw it and it is true. I was breaking off limbs this summer on the edge of the food plot by hand while waiting to get in the tractor, no gloves, and grabbed one without paying attention. It was not a tree limb, but a 1" thick poison limb. It has a very unique feel, unlike any other, if you have ever made that mistake you know what I mean. I immediately rubbed dry dirt on my hand and scrubbed like crazy. I poured Gatorade over my hands and then scrubbed with dirt (and then again). Went to the truck and used up a whole small bottle of hand sanitizer, scrubbed and dried with paper towels. Finished working and got home a few hours later before an actual washing, but never got a reaction. That video is what triggered my response and was $.
I got poison ivy so bad one time I even had it on my junk. . No lie. I was on oral steroids as well as shots along with antibiotics. I stay away from it and will pass on a tree with it. I have given up looking for more than one ProVI AND JUST TAKEN THE PENALTY.
I've made this same mistake and I react pretty strongly to poison ivy. I used Dawn dish detergent, scrubbed it with a soft bristles scrubbing brush in hot water with gloves and long sleeves on. I got it all over EVERY piece of saddle hunting gear including 65ft of rope.
From what I remember, my process was:
One wash scrubbing everything in a tub of hot water with Dawn.
One wash with unscented dish soap to cut down on the perfume odor (a couple days later as I initially couldn't find unscented dish soap)
Rinsed w hot water using the sprayer on my shower.
Hung dry in front of a fan.
Took a ton of time but I still use all of that gear and never got it again. Completed while I was still on a medrol dose pack...

There is no place i haven't had it , best though and this is true, buddy of mine was surveying for corp of eng when we were in co!lege, wiped his butt with it, most agony i have seen. Better him than me. He could not wear clothes for 2 weeks
just a sheet with a fan blowing under it,
