This is the stock buckle on the primals, Pete, looks about like yours. Push button for quick strap adjustment@Wolverinebuckman do you have to thread the strap through the cam or does it quick release like im doing?
Words to live by, not just here but everywhere, everyday!. . .Thanks @DanielB89 !It’s inevitable that the heart of DIY turn into something of the past here. The influx of people and their (unneeded/wanted) opinions will change the dynamics of this place.
This place has always been like family. It’s the primary place I check daily. I spend majority of my time here when online. Though I don’t know any of these guys other than o line, I thoroughly enjoy their virtual friendship.
Some general guidelines to replying to someone else’s post:
1) Be nice.
2) refer to number 1 before posting.
3) Ask yourself if this is something the post was even about.
4) Ask yourself, Is my post beneficial to the individual I’m replying to?
These basic guidelines have always been the heart of this place. Let’s keep it there.

Very well stated! It’s inevitable that the heart of DIY turn into something of the past here. The influx of people and their (unneeded/wanted) opinions will change the dynamics of this place.

You could probably take that apart and girth hitch both sides. The carabiner would just add too much noise potential, IMO.https://www.strapworks.com/mobile/Product.aspx?id=379
How about these with a caribiner?

Is an OCB possible in this application? Buckle part (short) sewn to one side and strap part (long) sewn to the other. Dano has ones with no metal hook part and it just threads into itself. Might slow the process but eliminates the buckle to hook contact.
Why not this? 4400 lb rating. $35. Your hook one of the hooks onto the strap and hand yourself the other hook. Hook it over the step. Cam it over. Be happy. I think I'll try it. Any objections?
That’s for 4 straps...DanO strap is half the price.
