I am using Canyon C-IV and it just seems really stiff and sometimes a pain to pack. I was just wondering if there is a better alternative.

I have C-IV, a couple Rescue-Techs, Ultra-Tech, Camo Elite, Bluewater Dominator and a couple more that I can't think of their names...
They are all good ropes and I like them all but I like some more than others.
You gotta buy them all and find your favorite. :p

I have this. Its good but 4.2lb per 100 whereas resc tech is 2.8 i think i wanna try some. My tether is resc tech

HTP. Doesn’t pack well and is stiff but it’s what I like with my ATC. I have 40’ of Oplux but I like Oplux for my bridge and tether and want to save it for those replacements

I'm using Canyon Elite that I bought from EWO. I really like it because it's not as stiff as C-IV and it packs into my dump pouch really well. I believe EWO has for $ 1.76 per foot.

Canyon Elite for me as well

I think C-IV is my favorite rope for tethers?

Canyon Elite is my favorite clothes line rope.
It's soo much bulkier than others...

What would you say is your favorite out of the bunch

All I have experience with is 9mm C-IV and found it was a pain to pack until I got the tethrd roll pouch and it was night and day difference with packing and walking to my tree. You can use any roll pouch but tethrd compartmentalizes it well so you can keep your tether length and madrock/biner separate in one pouch and the remaining length of rope rolled up tight with a clip to keep it secure.

With rappel rope, use the stuff sack method. Get (or make) a sack just big enough to hold your rope. To fill it, just grab 1’-2’ at a time and stuff it in. It looks like a god-awful mess when you look at it but it won’t tangle or knot up when you deploy it.

I loved the canyon elite but my second and current rope is resctech and I like it even better, but only due to size. The elite is ez to get from EWO and was the best price/ft. I love the way it feels in my hands and knot tying is a dream. I did go back to a separate tether and use the elite for that. I’m only deploying resctech to rappel and fish stuff up,……. like the platform I dropped the other day. I tied a prussik loop to the end , was able to get it around the stand-off and pull it back up.

When you grab and stuff that foot or two each time, you are stacking it and it should easily work as described……easier putting it away too probably. I have been known to move two or three times from an original spot without removing my saddle, I wrap my ropes with the figure 8 then fold and so far it’s fed flawlessly each time I forget to deploy it. I forgot a lot when I was using my rappel line as tether too.
