What do you want to know about the Tactisaddle?

Thanks for the review. Very good job on it. For leaners it looks like a really good option.

I have very little experience in saddles. Why is leaning vs sitting such a big difference in the tactisaddle?

There isn't a lot of surface area to sit on. With other saddles you have material that also takes some of your weight off of the webbing. Hopefully this makes sense.

Thats the way i felt about a kite i had for a few weeks. Leaning was good except i moved around a lot. Sitting put all the weight on the lower strap.tried a lot of different adjustments.

Lean against a countertop or porch rail. Comfy enough, but imagine sitting on in. Leaning transfers pressure from your butt to your feet. Sitting takes pressure from your feet and puts it on your butt.

Frequently, you see folks who like more minimalist saddles prefer to lean. I kinda fall in between. If leaning is like propping up against a countertop, and sitting is like...sitting, I end up perched on the edge of a barstool. Kinda a high seated position.

Got it. I hear a lot of people talk about sitting with your side of your hip against the tree. Thats more of a platform move than ROS move?

Got mine yesterday. Tried it out on my practice tree think it will be the ticket for me. Very good quality, easy to use, lightweight, and seems very comfortable— I am a leaner with platform.

So to everyone who has put some time in the Tacisaddle during hunting season, what are your thoughts?

I've been using mine since the beginning of the season and haven't had an issue with it.
The main criteria that needs to be filled for me is comfort because if I have to fidget all day trying to get comfortable chances are I'm going home empty handed. I find it very comfortable and have done multiple all day sits (10+ hours) without being in pain. I wear it on my way to and from the tree and it stays in place. The walks vary from a few hundred yards to just over a mile. The only thing I have changed is I added an Oplux rope bridge because I don't like how the webbing bridge feels sliding thru my tether carabiner. I do use the webbing bridge as a secondary connection to my tether, it gives me peace of mind having a redundant connection. Rappelling down is fine too. Really a well thought out simplistic design. If you're not one to get hung up on "name brands " this is a good choice.

What length bridges are you running?

Mine measures 25", that's from the knots I tied to the bridge loops. Used fisherman knot so it cinches tight to the bridge loop and stays where I like it.

I’ve had mine for about a month. Tried a couple of hunts and was not very comfortable. I am still using it, but now in conjunction with fleece. It works great to climb (bolts and LB) and as a backup connection to my tether-just loose enough that it would catch me after about two inches if the fleece failed.

I am actually clipping in to my tether using the webbing bridge of the Tactisaddle via a second prussic and carabiner placed lower on the tether than the fleece hookup.

FWIW, I have been saddle hunting for over a decade, exclusively.

Thanks everyone for the updates. Thinking of replacing rock harness with tactisaddle so always have saddle on. We have a lot of ladder stands hung and I think the tactisaddle would work as safety harness and bonus of switching positions on long sits or hunting the back side of the sets when leaves fall. Rock harness works but not super comfortable. I was hoping to leave the fleece at home if I make the switch.

I’m 6ft and 170 lbs. I got the tactisaddle as my first saddle. I’m getting a lot of riding up and hip pinch. Any tips or advice? I cannot get comfortable in it.

I can’t get comfortable in my tactisaddle. It’s my first saddle.

Once I'm up in the tree I loosen the waist belt considerably and place the upper strap below my belt line maybe 6" down on my butt and the lower strap slightly lower than my leg/hip joint.

Did you replace the bridge? I feel like mine is too short and that’s causing my hip pinch. I’m not sure though.

I added a rope bridge about 25" long because I didn't like the feel of the webbing bridge as it slides thru the tether carabiner.
