That’s a bad mammajamma! And great story.I posted in this thread last night and was reminded of it in the dark this morning when a deer blew at me. I usually don't get that while hunting around my farm and on the same train mentioned above about deer doing 180's rather than making all that noise but today was different.. When the sun started to come up, more blows. Then two more separate occasions and different locations more deer blowing at me. One was a young buck.
I started to think I was in a crap location until 9am when this guy gave me a shot. He was a rut deer. No brows and busted up left side. Never had him on any camera and not sure where he lived.

you’re the first person I’ve ever seen suggest that. that sounds freaking brilliant. I’ll try (almost) anything twice. That's his fur. Big deer.. Weight, head, cool looking deer for sure.
I guess my point was, just because a deer blows it doesn't always mean your hunt is ruined.
Here's a trick that can work and has for me many times when they do blow... (if they don't get 100% shot of human stink up their nose)
Blow back at them.
I have killed a lot of deer by blowing back at them and several that came right back to my tree from 100 yards away
Just don’t eat it.12 points for the contest. I'd shoot it
I’ve used this trick before as well! If you’ve been around deer a lot and with my age I have, I guess. Anyway, they “bluff blow” a lot. Used to think they were always blowing at me but then they would circle sround, looking the other way and attention focused and you can hear them do those slight Puffs and they will blow when they don’t smell you either…. It’s an alarm mechanism or it’s a dominance and communication mechanism. The snort wheeze is a similar example but they will also puff at each other a lot. I’ve also had several times, deer see me but not recognize me as human and blow and the wind was coming from them to me. They will keep trying to figure you out until they do or you kill them first. Bigger bucks I’ve not witnessed this level of curiosity. That's his fur. Big deer.. Weight, head, cool looking deer for sure.
