Thanks you guys for all of the information and comments! I have decided to order a Mantis! I do have a linesman belt for my Hss harness that is made of seatbelt material and seems to work fine.

1. Do you think that it would be ok to use the Hss linesman belt or would I be better off buying a new linesman belt?

2. Also what is the differance between the linesman belt and the tree tether on the Mantis order page other then the extra biner?

3. Is there anything else that I should order that is a necessity for my first saddle?

I know alot of you are using a ropeman 1 on the tether and on the linesman belt. I can always upgrade at a later time. With that said if my Hss linesman belt would be fine to use I could order one for my tether right away. Thank you!

The hss lineman will be fine and you can always swap it out later if you want.

The length is probably different but I'm not sure typically your lineman's is a little shorter but I can't answer definitely.

Climbing Method, platform, saddle, linemans belt and tether and that is all you need.... But the additional wants pile up quick around here!

Ropemans are awesome you won't regret grabbing one!

Aside from cutting off the straps that come with the SD, all the mods are optional. So for $35 plus a $25 RC harness you’re in business. Buy some chord for your tether and bridge and a couple of biners (some guys even use the biner that comes with the SD). You might not even break $100.

The Momentum harness looks fine, but for these purposes I feel like the $25 harness does the trick. Less bulky too.

When I bought my SD, the wait time for a Kestrel was long and the Mantis was not yet announced. Eventually I ordered a Mantis, but I am glad I did a lot of learning on the SD.

Thanks, didnt realize the sit/drag was so little money. I had seen the momentum on sale for 35$. For my tether , bridge and linesman rope what are my options. I just ordered 7mm accessory cord for my stick mod. Should I use heavier rope?
 
I neglected shipping costs but yeah.

Pretty much any climb rated rope of at least 8mm.
