I bought these last year and have used them for almost everything. I give them 5 stars the same as most reviews. They are in my cart right now to buy for later.
I used them to hold my sit drag to a waist belt. They stay locked unlike twist lock carabiners.

Ended up going with a Petzl Ok triact oval. Arrived today...and works well with the Kong duck. Triact locking mechanism will take a little bit to get used to opening with one hand...but I like it so far.

will have to figure out what diameter shrink tube I need. Going to try and cover as much of the biner as possible...without affecting its function

Most commonly, heat shrink has a 3:1 shrink ratio.

You could go with 1/2” heat shrink and have no issues. If it wouldn’t take 3 years to arrive, I’d be happy to mail you a foot or two of Orange heat shrink.

Been using .75" 3m/33 black vinyl electrical tape for years for my FBH, RCH and safety rope carabiners and screw links. Has worked extremely well and I get it free from work and it stay put in extremely cold temps. Admittedly not the best option but works and for me was free.

I have electrical tape on a few of mine...and it’s a **** show. Dirt gets caught on the edges where it overlaps...and glue residue all over. Prob just cheap tape

Yup...just found it and ordered 10foot. That’ll give me enough to take care of all of my biners. Thanks!
Never done this, I've just wrapped it with camo tape. Does it slide in ok? Or do you slit it?

Be careful with too much heat. Those 'biners are heat treated. When I did mine, I didn't use a heat gun, but instead used a hair dryer on high and just moved it around. It took longer, but I felt that there was no way I had softened my aluminum.

We are doing some off label stuff here, so I'm conservative.

Heck, I wonder if several coats of Plastidip wouldn't work well?

Would prob take a crazy amount of heat to affect the biners. And only takes a few seconds to shrink the tubing
