We've been working hard the past few weeks to come up with some big changes to our vendor policies to meet the changing needs of our community. Please see the new vendor rules here:

So with all the different setups from RADS, Froggers, M Technique and more what have most here decided upon for SRT and what specific pieces for your setup?
GriGri2, eBay has them for $55-70.
Hand Acender, again eBay or Amazon for $25-35
Make or buy a foot loop to attach to the ascender.
With those three items and some carabiners, you'll be able to climb and rappel out of any tree. Might also wanna get a throw bag and some reflective nylon rope.
I won't likely use a pulley. And I will try to use a Ropeman 1 as my foot ascender. I am also going to try using my Stirrups (tied from webbing) as opposed to a single for loop. Works well for me climbing the tree so I THINK it will be good for this.
The challenge is getting the lengths all working together and getting your bridge set up.
This is the method I'm using. I'm using the ropeman as my hand ascender and a foot ascender to advance the rope. I push the ropeman as far up the rope as I can reach and then bend the knee of the leg with the foot ascender. The rope feeds freely thru the foot ascender in this direction. When I step down the ascender grabs the rope and the stepping action advances the rope through the pulley and lifts the GriGri (and me). I like this method because I'm always full "weight on" the GriGri so there's no chance of it un-caming and letting me slip down. Also the two to one mechanical advantage provided by the pulley makes the step and advance almost effortless. The downside is that, because of the two to one advantage, I only move up half the distance per step. Once at height I remove the pulley from the ropeman and attach a length of prussic with a figure 8 loop on each end to back up the GriGri.
Simple "SRT" technique we use in rescue here at work involves two ascenders, pretzels work great and two prusiks. One Prusik for foot to climb and the other attached to harness. Each prusik attached to an ascender. A chest harness works best. Step into the prusik, take a vertical step, raise the chest ascender to capture progress, load the chest, and raise the foot loop, repeat.
