I selected "I get it, it's no big deal" but I don't really call it buck fever... I get the anticipation nerves once I know I'm going to send it on a particular animal, but it never affects the process (bucks and does alike). I get a bit shaky after the shot, with severity depending on how bad the build-up was lol!

Edited: Rifle/firearm, not so much lol...

I find the harder the season has gone, the worse I get it. Like if I have been hunting hard and just not seeing deer for long periods, I get it pretty strong. The later the season goes and no opportunities, the stronger I feel it when a deer does come by, even if it's a little one

Interesting. My tag-out fever kicks in like that if I have only one left in late December/January. Doe or buck, doesn’t matter.

Wasn't sure which one to pick. I have not gotten it a ton this season and it's the first season shooting a decent buck lol. I used to get too amped up waiting for deer to get within range in seasons past so do a lot of repeating things in my head like "be still, move slow, relax, loose hand, etc". Never a specific mantra/the same thing, but more of an active inner monologue to remind myself about the execution details instead of being fixated on "is that deer close enough yet!?!?!?" That got me too amped up.
