Wild edge rope sabotaged

Glad you ok

It looks chewed to me. I would think it was chewed and when weighted applied it broke clean at the weakest point.

Three points of contact, safety belt, that's why we climb safely every time, cause you never know if today's the day. Glad your your ok. I'm sure the stain will come out.

Hahaha...yes I’m sure it will.

I’ve had tree rats (Hawaii) chew through trail cam cables and a prusik knot on my safety strap. I don’t leave anything in the tree out here for that reason.

Hard to tell if your rope was chewed or cut but something definitely looks fishy.

There is a saboteur at work on your hunting property, from the looks of that rope. I suspect somebody that hunts nearby. Everwho did this, needs dealt with. Glad you are OK!

Glad to see you're safe I have mine still in a tree right now and this is my first year using them I get a little weary of temperatures dropping towards the zero mark or below of them possibly shattering so to speak I guess that's why you always stay attached to the tree.

Agree with others that is cut. A couple of mine are frayed pretty bad at this point but there is still no way I can break them. I plan to replace some ropes next spring. People just suck. I would never leave anything climbing related outside, not that is readily reachable by someone. Too many horror stories of equipment being sabotaged.

I would think if someone messed with them then they would have cut the ones they could reach, not the 3rd step 10 ft off the ground.

Had someone cut straps almost all the way thru on the top 2 sticks of a 4 pack of ladder sticks. It was the same year I had shoulder surgery and had just recovered. Was moving a stand, put my weight on the 3rd stick and was climbing it like a ladder when the strap broke, but the strap on the top stick held on. Could clearly see where someone took a knife almost all the way through. Don't trust anyone except your closest family and friends, and inspect your gear. People are absolute jerks.

Glad you are ok OP.

I hate to say this but I think it’s cut also. What a terrible thing to do. These ropes hold 4 wheelers I would think that a third of the threads would hold us no problem. Looks like someone cut almost all the way through. People suck

Did you have a spare pair of gitch in your bag?

I have always wondered what it would be like to fall into your linesman belt. I imagine that could bang you up.

Damn man that is some crazy ****. Guess that’s one advantage of always carrying my steps in and out with me every sit.

Where you from? I’m from SE MI but live in Toledo, OH.
I'm from Monroe. My wife is from Toledo...why the crap would you want to move there? Lol, just kidding. Well, not really.
I see you are from Ottawa Lake. I do a little public hunting a little north of there. Do you hunt Michigan and Ohio?

I always say I’m from Michigan but live in this “brown eye” of a state. No offense Ohio guys lol. I used to hunt both but now only Ohio.

It looks cut to me and i will say these ropes are tough as nails. I have some in my yard that have been on the tree since april and ropes are intact. This is not good to hear you could have been hurt pretty bad!!
