Would you still ground hunt if portable tree technology exist?

if it werent for a saddle, i would ground hunt. ive sat in elevated stands, and climbing stands, but never felt fully comfortable or safe. im not comfortable at heights, but the constant tension of the rope, makes me feel safe. i never cared for the regular tree stand tether system where it does nothing unless you have a fall.

100%. Do both now. the ground is more exciting. Truth be told I like hog hunting in Florida better than deer hunting, mainly because I hunt them spot and stalk and some are bigger than the dam deer! L will say I do like my saddle over a stand though.

Species being hunted matter and like was mentioned earlier, the environment being hunted matters. In the river bottoms where I hunt, there are primarily two scenarios, wide open mature hardwood with virtually no ground cover and cutover that in lots of places is 5' high or more and game will be on top of you before you can see it much less try to shoot it. Elevated just works better than on the ground there. I have hunted other places where ground hunting made the most sense and was effective.
