Where the skys are so blue!
I just bought some camo vet tape. Who all has tried wrapping their stepps to quiet them down, and which part do you wrap? I'm thinking just the "V" and see how it holds up. Does anybody wrap the stand offs? The stepps don't make a lot of noise when they touch (maybe the bend in the tubing affects the resonance) but they do make a little noise sometimes coming out of the bag.

i did a paracord wrap on the ones I bought to mess around with. i wrapped the square tube areas. I did find that wrapping too close to the area the knots live can cause some binding in the rope making untying a little less smooth.

wrapping those areas made it impossible for them to make contact noise just leave some area for the rope..

Wrapping anything where the knot is tied will grip the rope making it not slide as easy but it doesn’t matter if you use amsteel and work the knot like I do. I would think paracord will space the steps too far apart in the carry bag for them all to fit. I know mine wrapped with thin camo form was close to passing over the top of the bag.

I'm still on the fence with the amsteel. Need to do just one and see. I know it would be lighter and less bulky, but I'm thinking the biggest advantage may be less noise. I know I bought their aider and that thing is noisier than rocks in a tin can.

I took mine hog hunting this morning and I'm still on the fence about the wrap. I think it did prevent a few "tinks," in part because of the spacing issue you mention. Even the unwrapped parts can't tough when they're nesting. Definitely liked the camo factor. And to my surprise, the stayed clean.

I did the vet tape on the V only and I'm happy with it. It minimized the clinking just still have to be careful putting them together but I think it for sure helped
