Xop platform failure

I am curious about the wild edge platform that is supposed to be coming out. And of course Big Ernie’s finished product!

I'm on the fence about the wild edge steps, I'll probably pick one up and try it out to see if it would be a platform option for me. I'm intrigued by all the new platform ideas I'm hearing about.

I was using a lone wolf strap to connect it to the tree, the strap was slightly above level with the platform and was attached once around the cast with the loop attached to the gear hooks (ears) on the casting. It was an experiment just like alot of these things we try for saddle hunting, I'm just glad it happened close to the ground and not in the woods 25 feet up.
yep...but technically it should be the same outcome no matter how high ya are. backups save your ass

I'm just picturing lock-on support cables, but youre probably not able to create the same support with a cam lock strap....maybe just add some amsteel side cables (like a lockon stand) for bigger dudes to help prevent the platform from going past 90 degrees. Still would kind of get in the way and other step options would end up being better

Yep, that's one of the many benefits to saddle hunting. I'm going to try some other options. I like the hand climber top as a platform but hate the extra bulk of it.
