You hunt out of a what!?

I recently asked my local bow shop guy if he knew anyone who hunted from a saddle or if he had... without batting an eye he started talking about how he knew a couple guys that would walk the cut downs on horseback..... I politely acted like we were on the same page

A guy I work with was asking me the other day how I could stand to carry a stand and sticks in the mountains here and hunt, he usually just goes and sits on the ground. Told him I’ve been using a sit drag saddle and a rock climbing harness this season and it was the best thing because it was light, quiet and easy. I even showed him some YouTube clips, and he proceeded to tell me that looked way to dangerous and I’d probably fall out of a tree and get hurt. I explained to him how your always tied off and is very safe. Anyways he told me he’ll just keep sitting on the ground and hopes one comes by. This is the same guy that won’t walk more than 300 yards from his truck and hardly sees a deer. I’ve told him a few spots to try and even dropped pins and sent him the coordinates, to far or to much trouble is his usual response. That’s how he chooses to hunt and ain’t no changing it, also seems the vast majority of hunters are that way but there is a shift happening and more people are starting to get it and work harder and try to be more mobile and smart about hunting.

Sitting on the ground can work great, but it sounds like he’s a little on the lazy side...
