No issue. Would work fine. That is what mine are/will be made out of.Does anyone see an issue with using milspec polyester webbing for the knaider swaider project?

Can somebody link to the new tying method from @Cain ? I'm starting to like the idea of the steppladder over sticks.
Also, what's an average length for the Swaider?
im as green as it gets with saddle stuff...how did those steps get up there initially??
thats cool. but the OP has his steps way the hell apart. did he set them up with normal spacing first and then remove some on the way down?
awesome. Does he sets these steps up everytime or leave them in the tree?He hangs them that far apart. Reaches above and sets them.
Set them up every time. It's easy once you get the hang of itawesome. Does he sets these steps up everytime or leave them in the tree?
Finished my knaider/swaider build and went out to give her a shot. Used with WE Stepps. The way up is friggin awesome! The way down was a struggle because my swaider length was a little long. This made it real hard to get knaider unhooked and get all the way into swaider step. I was gassed when i got back to the ground! I built swaider length from bottom of my foot up to hip height I'm about 6'2", definitely going to shorten that up a bit. Fantastic system, would recommend some reps up and down near ground level for sure.
If you have a ropeman, that works great as well for fine tuning. That is essentially the red squirrel method.I highly recommend using a strap adjuster, at least until you get your length figured out. You can actually adjust it on the fly and get it just right. Pete
Thanks Pete! I used your pics at beginning of thread to get started! Brilliant idea man love itI highly recommend using a strap adjuster, at least until you get your length figured out. You can actually adjust it on the fly and get it just right. Pete
I can get 5' pretty easily per WE Stepp. You're taller than me so 5 steps should get you to 30' no problem, plus you get extra height out of the Predator. I can't see a scenario where I'd need more than 6. But 99% of the time, 4 or 5 will be plenty.Built my knaider/swaider today and gave it a try a bit ago. Really slick system! I found I can add a loop of amsteel to the bottom of my stick to connect the swaider and hook the knaider directly to the bottom step on the stick. Works great! I need to see how many WE steps it takes me to get to height but I think 4-5 of them will be plenty!

I am going to fabricate my set this week and get practising but I believe I am going to incorporate my rappelling system to come down. Looks like a great way to ascend but rapping out will make it even slicker!
