Realy, President's Day? We only get about 3 months of safe ice for fishing, and that is in the middle of it.

Can I get a quick explainer on what a non-resident would need to do to hunt with a semi-auto rifle?

How good is the hog hunting here and what are your odds of doing it with a bow? Although it may be a great excuse to buy a rifle (of course then there is the issue of transporting the thing through countless states). I have never hunted out of state in my life so I would not even know where to start.... for instance, what do you do with the meat? Butcher it on the spot and throw in a cooler? I know, I know, probably silly questions but I have no clue.

I am really on the fence on driving down from Massachusetts. The stars would have to line up but Hog hunting is something I so want to do. I really want to try the meat. I here it is quite good.

The first year we killed pretty good. I think 3 pigs out of 10 or 11 guys.
Last year the pigs were scarce
0 pigs 40 guys.
They have excellent skinning houses there.
Many of us bring extra rifles. I usually bring 5 or so rifles and a pistol

Thanks to @ImThere, we was able to hunt. We did not get our guns registered and ImThere was there to save our hunt by loaning us a couple of his extra guns......once again, thank you, ImThere.
