When it comes to the speed of the SteppLadder I would challenge anyone using any other method of climbing systems to a race!!
Just curious but if someone were to accept your challenge, would you be racing with or without your aider?
Thanks!

As much as I am liking your steps. I'm going to say "Ummm Spurs?"When it comes to the speed of the SteppLadder I would challenge anyone using any other method of climbing systems to a race!!
The more I use mine with the aider the more I feel like the petzl quickstep or similar style foot aiders would work better. It would stay on your foot so you would have to use the same leg all the way up. It may wear quickly between your boot and the stepps you are standing on. If you put your foot through it almost to your heel it shouldn't ever touch the stepp. The biggest benefit would be when climbing down. You could just move your biner down one step then slowly ease down until the aider gets tight. No trying to fish your foot through it but once before you go up or down. I'm considering taking a loop of 1/4" bungee and sliding it down tight against my boot with the wild edge aider. The way it adjusts you would also have to adjust the loop every time you adjust the aider length. It's a great concept and a good use of materials they already have on hand but I don't think it is the best aider for the application.Got my stepps the other day, love how solid they are, but aider scares me! Going up wasn't bad but coming down was no picnic. Getting foot in loop, no fun! Left mine around tree all night to stretch out.
I would make sure you are an expert at using the stepps before you think about using the aider. The stepps are great but there is a learning curve. Things can go wrong with the aider very quickly if you don't have the stepps on right.Got my stepps the other day, love how solid they are, but aider scares me! Yes we are working on a few new designs and materials that I know you guys will really like! We are also working on the platform attachment for the SteppLadder that you all have been looking for! I will post updates as we get closer. I also wanted to let everyone know that all of our ropes are custom made right here in our shop so if anyone is looking for any custom rope for bridges or any of your needs just shoot me an email at sales@wildedgeinc.com! I can make you anything you need!Have you guys considered changing the actual material of the step from metal to a military grade plastic or a lighter material with resonable strength would be nice to get 16 steps down to the 2 lb range
The saddle is on a stand still right now. The company i was working with on the production the saddle fell through and we are now looking into other avenues.Andrew,

Absolutely faster with the Aider. With the aider I would guess that I could climb 30 feet in less than 5 minutes. If i find I have 5 spare minutes one of these days (slim chance!) I will record it.To clarify I wasn't accepting your challenge. I was wondering if you are faster with or without the aider.
And you might just end up on a future episode of SaddlehunterTV. Hint hint.If you go hunt down in Georgia with G2, he'll record ya!
The race needs to include their new platform too!@redsquirrel dropping hint bombs!
@SteppsbyWildEdgeInc is already sponsoring SaddlePalooza 2018 so we'll have some Stepps there for everyone to try out. Now if Andrew could just find a way to attend the event and race @redsquirrel up a tree, we'd be set!!!
