Hey @g2outdoors I didn't see a link to the weapons registration in here. I did see mention of "appropriate paperwork" regarding weapons you may not own... every weapon I own was either gifted to me as a kid, or inherited. The inherited pieces weren't specifically listed in the will, so I essentially have no purchase/ownership paperwork for any of my firearms.... Any idea if this will be an issue?
The weapons registration link is listed in the spreadsheet you filled out.

Ownership doesn't matter. The weapon just can't have been used in a murder.

I've got a few questions for the group. I have never gone pig hunting, so I don't really know what I need. I have a rem .243 that I was thinking would work, a bow and a pistol, I am open to getting something if needed. Also I remember something about caliber restrictions but can't find anything.

Thanks for the help!

243 is a great pig caliber. I'd use that.

Since I was filling out the paperwork I decided on 12 gauge slug and 22-250.

If I’m the only one in the truck, I will add my bow in as well.

Ordered a new scope for my .243, curious what folks think. It's nothing crazy but I think it'll be pretty sweet, and a serious improvement over what I had, hoping to sight it in next week, gotta get ready to crush some pigs, right!

Ok Saddle Nation - Christmas is over. Happy New Year and all that crap...

It's time to quit thinking about our families and focus our attention on what really matters....LOTS AND LOTS OF PIGS!

If you haven't filled out the spreadsheet and paid the TINY little hunt fee (which only covers your food and lodging expenses PLUS a bad-a$$ event t-shirt from @d_rek ) then you need to do that ASAP. I'm going to be locking in the cook soon.

Please fill out the spreadsheet and follow the directions

I can't wait!

Ok Im in day after Anniversary haven't told the boss yet. We'll see how that works out. I couldn't see where to pay for all this fun. Can somebody help me out.

Hope to get the fee to you in the next week. Other than that I think I have everything else covered...?

I just want to clarify for everyone travelling like myself.. some of the prices in the original listing are skewed a bit.... the combo hunt license for the 4 days is $60. You can buy JUST hog for the 4 day period for $38. ($20 first day and $6 each additional).

Combo Hunting / Fishing (Short Term) - 1 day
Allows nonresidents age 16 or older to hunt small game or fish in fresh and salt waters for a specified one day period. Up to 10 additional consecutive days may be added for $10.00 for each day. Additional paid or free licenses may be needed depending on location and activity (see below). Hunter Education is not required. This license plus additional licenses are needed for the following activities: to fish in saltwater (free SIP Permit); to fish for mountain trout (Trout License): to hunt big game including deer, bear & turkey (Big Game License plus free Harvest Record for deer or turkey); to hunt migratory birds including dove (Waterfowl / Migratory Bird Stamp). A federal Duck Stamp is additionally needed to hunt waterfowl. A Quota Alligator Permit is necessary to harvest an alligator. This license allows nonresidents 15 years of age or younger to hunt big game (requires a Harvest Record to hunt deer or turkey), but they are exempt from big game license requirements.

Just make sure you start looking into it now so you don't find any surprises at the last minute.

I read this and don’t want to pick it apart but it says you don’t need Hunter Education. I think G2 said you do need it. I don’t need it for hunting because of my age but that being said have hunted military bases before and they required it. So not sure what is right or wrong but if you don’t have it I would check with the base or G2 and not get stuck not being able to hunt.
