Yes that would be very lite and compactI'd love to see this done out of Amsteel continuous loops. Bet 8 of them wouldn't weigh much of anything.
I wanted to make it out of Amsteel but I’m not real good with that process yet.

Thinking you could even do a single strand with a brummel lock in both ends instead of a continuous loop. Just make the brummels on either end wide enough for the toe of your boot to easily fit. Then it wouldn't matter which end got girth hitched to the tree.Yes that would be very lite and compact

We need someone to make a Amsteel version to test out.Thinking you could even do a single strand with a brummel lock in both ends instead of a loop. It was a good idea and worth experimenting with. Thanks!Well I went out today and did more testing and I’ll be honest I’m not a fan.
It’s super simple to girth hitch and fast but I’m not big on aiders and this feels very similar.
Yesterday With trying one out I thought it had potential but today with the complete setup moving up the tree it didn’t feel efficient.
It doesn’t weigh much and is silent but it’s just not what I was hoping for but possibly a younger more flexible person may like it.
Oh well I’m out a little time and webbing no big deal.

I placed them at 4 and 8 o’clock with the inside of my foot to the tree.Did you put your toe to the tree, and have it directly in front of you(6oclock) on tree?
If so, try again putting the one for your right foot at 4oclock or so, left foot at 8oclock. Put the inside of your boot against the tree.
This should solve the stability issue.
You’re on your own for climbing down, removing them, etc.
