New Gear for 2023, Go!

I have a fair amount of time on midweight Darn Tough boot socks and their ski socks with no issues. This is the only HWT pair I have (had). What’s funny is I got the heavier socks to swap once I get to my stand location to start each hunt with 100% dry feet. That sock tore like wet paper.

I’ve switched from 400 gram boots to much better 200 gram mtn boots and am looking for something Warmer than midweight but also durable.

Thought I’d try Buffalo. I’ve mid-weight alpaca socks already. I was interested in the these new Kodiak socks because of the higher Bison down content (65% overall). But it sounds like they’ll be too bulky.

Maybe I’ll just try grey wolf boot blankets or Arctic Shield.
I have those exact same heavy weights socks. 4 pairs.

This is the way to go. Mid season in in mid weight socks and boots. Later season I add the blankets. If it's really cold swap to a heavy sock or add a hand warmer inside the blanket. So much nicer and my feet were never warm before.

For the second time, my proximity jacket came undone in the same spot. The stitching comes undone above the right-hand pocket. They already replaced it once before so I sent them another email. They offered to replace it again or store credit. Going with store credit. The jacket is junk. The last time I wore it it wasn't even about hunting anymore, but survival. Nearly croaked in the tree I was so frozen.

Kuiu went down the crapper. I have been having problems with a couple pieces myself.

I could make a Kuiu post so long no one would read it about all the problems I've had regarding their clothes... But did you see the new 1/2 saddle thingy by LWCG for 3 hundo?

Go with Gray Wolf Woolens. I hunt hard and am rough on gear/clothes. No issues at all and its made how I want it.

What clothing pieces do you use from GWW?
I have the wolfskin bibs. They're my most versatile piece. Full size zippers, block wind great, easy to layer under and even during heavy rains they don't seem to absorb much water. The knit is so tight briars don't bother them either.

I had the coat but sold it, the fit was like wearing a square box. And I need more of an athletic cut. I bought these second hand so they were not designed for me.

If I lost mine, I'd order a full set the next day.
