Nice job on the sticks. Oh how I wish I had a shop again. How long are they. Looks like about 20"-24".

Yeah man! I have huge feet so the wide top is really nice to stand on.

Nice job on the sticks flingin! If you planned on stealth stripping them I see no reason not to drill the post out. Although if you just wanted to paint them I wonder if they would sound like a harmonica when the wind blows.

Better yet- your luck you would make a deer pied piper whistle and have them all over you..
Great job!!!!!!!!!!!!I guess this extended winter/late spring got the best of me and I decided I needed to build something! I’ve been following the “Can you build a 1.3lb stick” thread and it got my wheels turning for my own build. I really liked @Bowhunter15’s build but I didn’t want to mess with machining the steps. I had some 3/16 6061 angle so I decided to make my own step design. I really had no plan, I just started marking and cutting. My plan was to run the bolt through the step for the LW tree brackets but weld the step on each side to eliminate twisting. I must say it turned out really nice! They are super solid feeling and come in right at 1.5lb per stick. With 4-step aiders made of Amsteel on each I will be right at 5.25lbs ready to hunt. All I need is some paint and I’m set! When testing the stick/aider I was getting right at 85” to the top of my first step.

@flinginairos. Do you think 4 15 inch steps on those aider would work on that aider instead of 12 inch steps. That would work well with a 12 inch stick to still get 7 feet per stick
It would also allow you to double the bury length on each splice
Also my sticks are not welded yet. After your testing do you think 1/8 Angle will work
