Your best bet is to buy Dan Infalt's stick and mod them with amsteel

I'm guessing 5/16" amsteel if Dan's buttons are the same depth measurement as Lone Wolf sticks. I'm running 8mm static kernmantle cordage right now on Lone Wolf sticks, but I want to upgrade to amsteel and will probably wait until Dan gets his sticks to the market.

Did you do the FEA?! I'm curious who's behind the engineering! It would be cool to see the stress and strain analysis results. I've been playing around with designing a platform but figure now I can just quit since they seem to have nailed it!

Not really my place to say. But I did run it thru one of the programs we have at work as a 2nd look at it. I was playing around with my own idea of a platform as well. But once I seen this one, i had the same feelings. This is all good stuff.

I’m not in the know but what I read snooping through the tethrdnation.com website mid July. That said they are bringing this as fast as they can and things can change fast.

So your hacking the site :tearsofjoy:

I talked to my brother yesterday who is a PE, and told him to hold off. I was going to have him design a stand. After talking with Ernie the Predator is incredibly strong.

Regarding shipping...

The goal has been to have Tethrd products in your hands in plenty of time for hunting season in September. Early supporters will receive EVERYTHING in July.

That's plenty of time to get familiar with the new setup.

After we fulfill pre-orders, we anticipate a short ramp up to get to VERY short shipping times.

Yes. Very strong. And not just a couple engineers. Ernie was bouncing ideas of his coworkers (also MEs). And I was bouncing ideas off my MEs. Bowhunter15 as well. Ernie wanted no limitations for the big and tall plus a bit of safety.

I'll be using the Kifaru E&E as my pack for the new platform. I had my Ernie platform on it and it fit perfect.

You got it because it comes in Kryptek, didn't you? :D Kidding aside, looks like a great small pack and Kifaru quality can't be beat. I forgot to tell you this, but my initial impression of the Mantis was that if Kifaru was to make a saddle, it would be the Mantis. It's that good. ;)

I hate to disappoint you but my E&E is actually in COYOTE! Surprise!!! I'm estatic with the feedback on the Mantis!! It's one thing for me to think I do good work, but when I sent out half a dozen prototypes to seasoned saddle hunters, all with more saddle experience than me, I must say I was more than a little nervous. When I started getting the positive feedback from the testers, I was completely overwhelmed with joy!

And I admit I am a bit of a Kifaru Kool-Aid drinker. Some of my design aspects were born of my experience with Kifaru products.

Does anyone know the total weight of the entire setup? Saddle, ropes, carabiners, ect... And the weight of the platform?

Full saddle setup including two Ropeman's, tether and lineman rope, saddle and platform should be under 5 lbs. My calculations are 4.25lb without the rope. The prototype platform I have is 2.69lbs with the strap. That may change a little on the final production model. That is the weight of my XOP platform alone!!
