    Continuous Amsteel loop as second bridge?

    Years ago when I first started saddlehunting I added a metal d-loop to the belt of my saddle and put a prussic on the tail of my tether so I could clip to them together with a carabiner. Over time I just got to where I trusted my gear.

    Same here with the cover hanging, usually just take it off when in the saddle. Will also just put all of it in my pack when climbing.

    Really like the Rick Young Outdoors harness. Have to go to the web site to get the neoprene protective cover and he has a clip for your rangefinder also. See the harness at big name stores but it's just the harness.

    I just got set up to try this, have 5 stepps, 5 step aider and the predator. High hopes to ditch the sticks. Tried it with one stepp already, attaching the stepp above the head is not fun. Gotta get the stepp set tight, maybe 4 step aider and an extra stepp would be better. Try it out in the...

    So which is better

    X2 but I'm a newbie. 3 Modified heliums with single step aider for each if needed and 4 stepps. Been trying other methods but this seems to be what I'm most comfortable with especially in the dark and very versatile.

    Tree Umbrella....Opinions????

    The Hawk definitely is beefier than my 15yr old Allen brand, especially the mount. The Allen mount is basically a 1/4 inch rod about a foot long with 1 1/2 inch of thread. I would think the Hawk would take more of a special mount for public land.

    Well I have more to add. I would imagine that for most of us the diameter of the tree at hunting height will be a lot smaller and the platform will be using the inner teeth which should be stronger.

    My take on this breakage may be that the tree being used is big enough that most of the pressure is on the outer teeth where it would produce a lot of leverage on the furthest/ weakest teeth.
