Anyone every shoot and Oneida Eagle?

Your best bet for parts and refurbishing is to find guys big into bow fishing. The Oneida's are the top dog with bow fishermen and a lot of guys buy any and every part they can get their hands on so they can fix up the old ones easily.

    DIY platform

I would think this would be preferred so that you are only stressing the weld (sheering) on 1 plane vs 2.

Adding bibs after I’m hooked up

Actua Actually it’s not that Bad. I use screw in steps and as long as you open the zippers first the boots slide right in. If I had an actual saddle and not my diy sitdrag rch monstrosity with 2 huge pouches it’d sure fit inside the bibs a lot better

Adding bibs after I’m hooked up

Holy moly, I might be late to this idea but I hate walking/ climbing in my bibs so I usually pack them in them dress at the tree. This morning is was 35 so I had layers on. This afternoon it was just too dang hot, 55*F, to wear much more than a light layer while walking a mile back to a stand...

    Saddle and Crossbow

i do this as well. while I hate carrying crossbow in the woods compared to a recurve or compound, or rifle for that matter, i do like the ease of use while up in the saddle. I made my first harvest last week from a saddle due to being able to manipulate the crossbow over a limb and was...

What is it about saddlehunter's that makes us gear addicts?

The day I saw Scott F on the range and we got to talking and he pulled out his saddle to show me I decided to make my own sitdrag/saddle and listed my stands for sale. I had the familiarity with the ropes and such from military mountaineering school, it just made sense once I saw how it worked...

    Superday or Diablo dos??

Check out the mystery ranch pop up. It’s a load hauler with 2 different size pack options for day packs. I think it’s going to be my next pack once I find one used after the season. You can haul sticks and platform on the load shelf and collapse it down at the tree so it’s smaller once up in...

    1st kill from saddle.

2nd season hunting from a saddle, hit a nice buck quartering away last year with a rage through the lungs but it never opened and never found the deer, it took until Friday to get my first deer from the saddle. Me and the wife got out with her crossbow all day after the kids left for school but...

Source for a 1 step aider?

Just use a length of tubular wedding, insert a length a rope inside to help keep the step open and tie with a Frost knot. Used this for a year until I built my 3 step movable aider last week.
