    DIY aluminum milling

Unfortunately time is still an issue. I did however make a set of steps similar to the one that I posted a while back. The design is no good. They need to have some sort of back plate to keep them from rolling side to side. Similar to the ameristep plastic ones. I do believe that casting them...

    Overcenter Buckle Video

Great job red! That's definitely what we were looking for. Very exciting times :D I'll be ordering one asap! A guy at work said the other day that it's less than 90 days to bow season, I need to get moving. Working 7 10's has made it hard to just keep the lawn mowed let alone get ready for...

    Activated Carbon Information

This is how I feel about it as well. I've been winded while I was in my crazy scent control phase. My best guess on why so many swear by scent loc is that they think they had deer down wind when some milk weed seed would actually show what the wind and thermals are doing.

    New Strings

I'm way over due for a new string. Do you have a bow press? I would rather replace it myself.

    sighting in bow

I'm no expert but if you're hitting high it sounds like you're dropping your arm instead of bending from your waist.

    Platform opptions

That would be awesome red. I've just made a serious job change and pretty big pay cut (in the long run it will be better) so I've been working as much as I can find on the side. Been too busy to try another pour. I can't wait to see what you've got to say!

    Crossbow in saddle

I've used my muzzleloader in the saddle. I would think it would be close. No shame in using a crossbow when the time comes for me I won't hesitate. My wife used one last season to shoot her first deer and I can honestly say that deer had no idea it was hit. I was above her in my saddle it was...

Sand casting aluminum tree steps pt 3 (need more practice)

Hey what's up guys, I gave it a shot today. I did however have some problems. I've been thinking about how I want to do this for a while and I decided to try a method called "lost foam". I made a pattern and cut it out in some foam. I tried to get some pictures of that process for you guys but...

    1 stick climbing method

What if you can't use screw in steps on public? I don't know if I'd use it near a bed, but I'd probably use it during rut.

    My coolbot deer cooler

Is that just a normal AC unit? A guy at work was talking about wanting to build something like this.

Sand casting aluminum tree steps pt 2 (first melt)

I was using an old aluminum ladder. I've read that useing extruded aluminum like the ladder, aluminum pipes and sheet aluminum has a tendency to shrink after it's in the mold and that using aluminum from motors or other stuff that has been cast is best due to shrinkage . But all I had was the...

Sand casting aluminum tree steps pt 2 (first melt)

Well it came down to doing some scouting or melting some metal, I chose the metal! I have to say this part was a lot easier than I thought it was gong to be, and seeing that bright liquid silver pouring like water was awesome! I got some pictures. This is what I used to feed air to...

    Sand casting aluminum tree steps.

It's still moving forward but slowly. I have everything I need to melt and the aluminum to melt. Only thing I need to be 100% is to make greensand. Which is just play sand mixed with a powdered clay. Time is still a issue. This Saturday my sister is going to baby sit my son and my wife is going...

    Sand casting aluminum tree steps.

I finished remodeling my laundry room. Now any free time I have can go towards these steps. I'm thinking since I have no idea how thses are going to go I don't want to spend a ton of money making the foundry. I'm thinking I'm going to go caveman style on this fist one.
