31 % off EZ kut DRILL today only

Mr Womack How many holes you reckon you drilled with a woodpecker drill?Really enjoy your videos and your take on deer hunting. In my opinion you boys do it right.First class woodsmanship and good old fashioned sweat and boot leather. We would hunt well together.

Thank you for the kind words, I appreciate your interest.

I purchased my first Woodpecker drill in 1983, after discovering them on a Alabama hunt. During that time my primary method of climbing was spurs, and I didn't use the drill that much. A couple of decades later is when my hunting style started changing and they became more attractive to me. I have no idea how many holes that I've drilled, but I'm now on my third Woodpecker drill and have drilled a lot of holes with my EZ-Kut back up drill. I started using the cordless drill about 6 years ago for presets and probably average drilling 25 trees a season with that method. In my opinion it's the safest, lightest and most portable climbing method available. And, once a tree has been drilled, it's pretty awesome, and effortless to walk up to the tree and just insert bolts as you climb.

This x2. It's an extremely economical option as well. I'm going to give my climb rights a fair shake, but so far they're losing to the bolts.
It's definitely my most compact climbing method. 4 lbs and it packs up to the size of a water bottle.

Yep, I'm doing some last minute scouting tomorrow. Nice to be able to wear my kestrel, stick the bolts in a cargo pocket, and boogie through the woods at cruising speed. If I find something interesting it's a simple thing to drill a tree and Mark it on Huntstand.

I love this method for climbing trees also. But the are killer on my feet. So I went to the surplus store and bought some gas line hose and put over the bolt that sticks out of the tree and man what a difference it makes for comfortably.

If this is an issue for you, you can also consider hanging from your tether when setting up the tree. This will transfer most of your body weight to the saddle instead of your feet. Just like using a ring of the steps for your platform.
