Liked my late 80s f150 a lot. It's dead now. My sister has a 2016 f150. Loaded her up with like 1/2 a cord of wood one day...the bed looked like someone had taken a jackhammer to it!!! Super soft. My gmc 2500hd. Is rugged and solid, thouh their are enough silly engineering decisions to drive a home mechanic ridiculously crazy!!! Like who uses torx anywhere on a vehicle which is exposed to the elements? You think you'll be able to get a head in those without stripping them after more than a week? NOT.

Had to leave her where she broke down huh? Sux.

Don’t worry I’m sure a ford will be along shortly and pull your dodge and the trailer out of the field.

Na parked it there for a pic. That was the last of 732 rolls I had to move and pulled that storm in with the last load to green Hayfields and pastures back up.

There was a Ford 350 6 speed within 100 yards of there. It was setting in the car shed. They's a reason that inline 6 was doing what that 8cyl stroke wasn't.

My Twin Brother just got his Predator. He is excited. Looking for a report from him as he a Nationally Recognized OSHA instructor. Said he is going to give it the once over.

I’m looking forward to hearing all about it.

My first truck was a black 98’ f150 with a 3” lift, duel exhaust, k&n intake, 18” rims with aggressive tires, blacked out lenses, aftermarket grill and chrome rocker trim. That truck was a beauty. Then I had kids and it was a pain to get them into the back seat. Bought a GMC Sierra sle 4 door. The truck treated me pretty good but the body completely rotted. Wheel wells and rockers where gone along with the bottom of the doors. Oh, and it didn’t have the power I was looking for to pull our camper.
Back to a ford! Plenty of power and gitty-up and go with the twin turbos, handles nite and day better that the gmc, fun to drive and hopefully no issues with the WI winter and salt. I don’t care about the claims of how the aluminum bed looks after dropping a front end loader full of bricks from 4 feet up. I would never do that. If an accident creates more damage that a typical steel truck I fall back on the same insurance to get it fixed. It also has everything I want for hunting. Plenty of room in the back seat for changing on those cold mornings, keyless entry, locking tailgate, led lighted bed, and some descent MPG.

I was pretty early in the ordering queue. Mantis's must not be rolling off the sewing machine fast enough. No word yet.

I’m not one of those Chevy/Ford/Dodge war guys. Now days manufacturers all make a solid product. They have to. The Ford just had what I wanted. My bro-in law drives a dodge, it’s nice and rides really nice. My buddy drives a Chevy Ltz that is also really nice. It’s all about what the owner likes/wants from a truck.

I'm not either I just like ribbing you boys

I suggest someone who has gotten their gear start new threads. One on Preditor platform reviews and another on Mantis reviews.
Secret thread was epic but has wondered off in so many unrelated directions that I hesitate to read updates anymore.

It has gotten ridiculous to expect to try to keep up with Mantis shipping on this thread. Is there anything that hasn’t been discussed on here?

We need to be nice to @huck72412 . He is one of our own. He is just realizing where he really fits in on the tethrd team and is having a hard time facing reality. When a man has to take pics of other people’s trucks in parking lots to try to be accepted on the internet, he has hit an all time low. It’s like taking pics with someone else’s deer. Kinda makes you wonder about his kill pics. It was nice to see the guys at saddlepalooza let him win some games at cornhole. It really shows how great of a team we have on this site. Let’s continue to support our special little brother. Thanks guys.
It's overwhelming sometimes being the subject of such relentless envy. But is been this way my whole life so it would seem like I'd be used to it. Sort of like ole swampy should be used to his underwhelming performance in the woods each season. Hope ya don't end up on my team this year. But it's cool that you post diy videos sometimes to distract from the fact that you ain't killin nuttin. LOL

Greetings Tethrd Nation. It's time for another update.

We shipped a WHOLE BUNCH of Predator platforms this week and the feedback has been great! We're so happy to finally get this stuff in your hands! Each platform came with paper instructions for attaching it to the tree, but we'll go over some of the most important things here for those of you that are still waiting on your Predator.

1. First, strap it to the tree with the platform in "up" or "transport position. Pull the strap as tight as humanly possible and keep the strap level.
2. Once the strap is tight, push down with one hand on the top of the i-beam post. Push down hard. You're trying to remove all the slack in the strap. The post and bracket should move downward a few inches depending on the type of tree.
3. Continue to push down as hard as you can and then rotate/cam the platform down letting the teeth bite into the tree. It should take some effort to push the platform all the way down. You may have to repeat this process depending on the tree.

For most people, the platform is now ready to hunt. Depending on the tree, you may have to use the "toe hook" method to really get it tight. First, stand on top of the post with one foot, and use your toes from your other foot to hook the platform and rotate it back into the "up" or "transport" position. The Predator should move down a couple inches on the tree. Next, step back down on the platform to lock it in super tight. This is the same method used with some hang-on tree stands. The "toe hook" method should only be a last resort if the platform doesn't get tight enough with the "push down" method.

Don't jump up and down on the Predator! It's strong, but it's not designed to be a trampoline! Also, keep in mind it's designed to be used WITH a saddle! The Predator is a positioning aid, not a tree stand.

Finally, look for a video tomorrow on the Tethrd Nation YouTube Channelshowing this process in detail.

Regarding the Mantis and the other sewn goods. I just now got off the phone with the manufacturer in Minnesota. Unfortunately, they're not going to make the anticipated delivery date of next week. We're looking at a new delivery date of the first week in September and being caught up by the middle of the month. I know this really effects some of you guys whose season opens up really early. I sincerely apologize for the delay.

I know, I know, I know - this is not what anyone wanted to hear, least of all me. I'm having chest pains from typing this out. However, bad news is not a fine wine...it doesn't get better with time. I have the responsibility to keep all of you informed even though it's painful.

The good news is I know every single one of you is going to love the Mantis once you get your hands on it. It's that awesome. It's comfortable, it's user friendly, it's light weight, and it's tough as nails. I hung in the final prototype this morning when I finally got a chance to mess with the production Predator platform. Believe me when I say this combo is going to be a GAME CHANGER and it will revolutionize how you hunt.

We appreciate the support and the understanding. Hang in there guys!

Greg & Ernie

@g2outdoors thank you for the update. Not the news you were looking to give and not what most wanted to hear but its all good. I think you being open and honest about it all is super huge plus.

I don’t know if it’s possible to explain but what about these goods are being held up. I understand they have standards and QC checks but is it all that??

This delay was caused by a webbing problem. The webbing we received ended up being purple instead of brown. And this is the second time we had this issue. I don't want to call anyone out, but the company rhymes with crapworks.com

They've shipped us the wrong color items, the wrong items, the wrong quantity of items. Let's just say we won't be buying from them any longer.
