The You tube video was very well done. The saddle looks like a next generation Sit-drag! More than that really. A 5lb setup will get me hanging and hunting out of any tree! Wow,the platform!

So to complete this system are you guys planning on any climbing products in the future before people go off and buy products that will be in the classifieds? Lol.

Man this is awesome. And I’m guessing the longest and most responsive thread on this forum lol. I am super pumped for you guys behind the scenes and for me and all the other saddle hunters to get a “one stop shop” for everything saddle. Very humble of you all to not just push the products you are making and make your product work along with all the other saddles and gear. Thank you guys for putting your creative minds together. I’m sure you’ve guys have thought of everything as the wheel never stops spinning on making something better for saddles on here. You all seem like a hoot with everything I’ve read, hope there is another saddlepalooza next year, I think it would be a good one and I’d like meet some people on here. Been a great read with some good laughs. Best of luck to you all...and a good part of me is glad your secret has gotten leaked early, the other part isn’t because now I’m anxious like everyone else!

You've already perfected this, just make 2 step helium sticks and spare us the hacksaw work.

Any word on if there will be different sizes, or is a one size fits all?
I asked for a Size 3 and Flingin said I'm in luck. So, I'm guessing, various sizes or some solution for bigger men.

Congratulations to the Tethrdnation team for creating the Mantis. I know the feeling. 34 years ago when New Tribe was born, my partner and I created the first really comfortable tree climbing saddle for ourselves. Everything New Tribe does begins as a DIY solution to problems nobody has solved before.

It was a hunter who came to New Tribe asking if we could design a saddle for hunters. Everything we do for hunters is made with input from hunters themselves. It is because we listen to you that saddle hunting has taken such a surge forward in the past few years.

Mantis did not arise in a vacuum. I’m glad you mentioned that Mantis was developed from a Kestrel clone. That makes the Aero Hunter Kestrel your ancestor. Your product is competition for us, and that’s a great thing. Competition drives innovation, and gives the community more choices. And it tells us we’re on the right track with the new designs we have underway.

We love seeing the entrepreneurial spirit flourish in your work. But a strong product can stand on its own without putting its competition down. So be nice, friends. We’re all in this together. Respect your ancestor and your path will lead to success.

BTW—Aero Hunter/New Tribe is not a big corporation. We are eight souls working out of a tiny shop in rural Oregon.

We added anti-gravity adjusters that attach to the molle loops. Bigger sizes will require more adjusters than others but this will allow you to float effortlessly if you need to step off your platform.

I’m gonna have to call this the year of the Mantis... just purchased an NAP Mantis 2 blind last month and now preparing for the Tethrd Mantis come June 1st. Is there a Mantis Climbing method I should be aware of?

Good grief! You guys want more stuff? I bet next you'll be asking for sizes like Medium, Large, and X-Large? Where does it all end???
Hypothetically speaking of course; ;) Let's say there will be sizes available in,...oh I don't know,...Medium, Large and X-Large, how would a guy go about choosing which size to purchase? Waist? Butt? Junk? o_O Maybe flinginairos can shed some light on this? :tearsofjoy:

@bluetbird42 I don’t think you will be disappointed in the kestrel. All the positive reviews you have read on it still apply.
Agreed, the kestrel is a great saddle. That didn't change and we've never claimed anything different.

The Mantis was simply born out of our own selfish needs for something different. We knew what we wanted from a saddle and so that's what we made. Every piece was looked at for bulk, weight, and functionality. If we weren't happy with any of those three qualities, we tried again.

When we were done, we produced something we were proud of, and that we would thrilled to hunt out of.

At the end of the day, the most important thing is to get more people hanging from saddles in trees. If we can provide options to accomplish that goal, then we have succeeded.

Be safe, kill deer and enjoy all that nature has to offer.
