I watched Greg's video on his public land Backpack Hanger and his video on his Public Land Gear Hanger. I thought, why not just use the same 7/64 Amsteel and make a gear hanger and backpack hanger in one. So I took some 7/16 Amsteel and tied several Alpine Butterfly knots into it. 12 to be exact, spacing them roughly 3-4 inches apart. A fixed loop on one end and, Walla, Gear/Backpack/Bow hanger. I put so many on so I'd I moved my hunting position to where I want to move my tether, I could easily move my bow to keep it handy. Back pack will hang on the first Alpine butterfly knot that passes though the fixed loop on the end to keep it taught. Otherwise I'll use a Clove Hitch on a stick or a couple of Half Hitched to keep it from slipping on hunts where I don't carry in a backpack.

I like it. On these types of mods, I like to give guys other options. This is a great one that can be done without a sewing machine. A lot of my hunting buddies don't have sewing machines. I posted links to rock climbing and hammock daisy chains that dont require sewing.

This is an all around good idea for the public land hunter. I plan to use it more next year

I used this style of gear hanger all season long. It saves time and weight IMHO!! It also is supper quiet and it does not present another thing in the way like a screw in type.

Great idea. And for this that don't have amsteel parachord will work

Way to go! I like it! The thing to consider is how you weight the tag end after you cinch it down. There are lots of ways to skin that cat.

Have fun!

Nite ize is like Duct Tape. Many uses.

I actually found on Amazon that Nite ize makes a 4ft strap with loops in it that has their carabiners right on it. I believe it comes with 8 biners. Very similar to what G2outdoors made. It's called a gear line. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00F...+gear+line&dpPl=1&dpID=51yQ7Nyd1vL&ref=plSrch

Yeah, I found that after I sewed mine. The Nite Ize version is only 48" long. You'll more than likely need more than 4'. I believe mine is 5.5' and sometimes I wish it was longer. I really like that the Nite Ize version is 3/4" webbing so it's even lighter.

I have my own sailrite walking foot sewing machine. I bought it to sow my own boat canvas. It’s going to modify a lot of my gear.

IMG_0014.JPG Just copied G2 as well, but made an 8' one out of paracord. Figure 8s at both ends, alpine butterfly knots at 6" spacing, give or take. Got all loops to fit onto one side of a #3 S-biner (switched to a geartie), and clipped the other side to a molle loop on the backpack. Pretty happy with it, packed - it fits in the palm of the hand.
