Activated Carbon Powder

I've been using activated carbon since finding it at a show sold by Dr Jim as scentbuster dust. I like to keep my rubber boots in a garbage bag with the powder until I get to my hunting site. I can't recall any instance witnessing deer picking up the scent of my trail since using it, which was a regular occurrence previous to using the activated carbon. I think Dr. Jim has been using zeolite powder for the same purpose lately without the mess.

Its been a bit since I read/watched, but I don’t think he is using zeolite instead of activated carbon. Rather, he is using both. He was using zeolite powder closer to his skin (I’m recalling a conversation I had with him), and activated carbon on things like his boots and outer layers.

I think your right!

So what's your protocol Bass? Do u ozone gear, then move to carbon treatment just B4 your hunt? Do you have recommendations for products, specifics? I did Dr Jim's approach 2 years ago and did see a lot of good deer, this past year I slacked and I got picked off downwind more that the previous year...

I am really curious, I get 6 days a year and never can bank on cold fronts, moons, etc so I want to do everything I can to make it happen. Is there a specific brand of these products?

John Eberhart has a large write up on scent control somewhere around here. He recommends Scentlok, just don't pay full price you can find it on sale you just might have to be patient.

Ozone. Then store with carbon.

Dress in the field.

Just sit. Carbon is all about equilibrium. It will seek it in the headspace of your tote. And fresh carbon has a higher carbon efficiency then regenerated scentlok

Thanks, got one more for you. Do you have any specific supplier and brand or would the link shared from Amazon be good to go at the beginning if the thread?

Roughly how much carbon for a medium size tote?

As much as you have room. More is better since it's an equilibrium. I like coconut based. It has a good poor size distribution.
