Over center buckle will get them tight around the tree. I'm not really sure in what part of the process they are loud? I don't think that's a common issue for folks. Also, I can't see needing more than 4 unless you're hunting a really big tree.

A small platform can't be beat for comfort, especially for leaners. But what you've got is best for all around function.

It's kind of like my web versus kestrel - if I know where i'm going and packing the 4lb platform isn't a hassle, I take it.

If I'm scouting and don't really know where i'm setting up - it's strap on steps for sure.

Justsomedude, did that strap come like that or did you have to mod/sew on the hooked end? Please provide the link at Strapworks. Thanks.
Found it!

1" wide Polyester. Coated with rounded corners. Camo, I think I got 8' straps (found myself on a few trees where I had VERY little strap left over when I used shorter straps so I went long).

You just remove the buckle they ship with it.

SET YOUR TETHER before stepping on your platform.

Just to add...

Im a big guy. The straps show NO signs of wear at all. The hook hasn't bent at all. There is a little wear on the coating on the hook. The Erikson Overcenter Buckle looks like new and is bombproof. I love that buckle.

Does either end of the strap come completely off so you just have the strap.... allowing you to feed the strap through a narrow eyelit and than back onto the hardware part of the strap (that you initially removed)?

Yes. When you unthread their buckle, you are left with a plain end. The part your remove is a buckle with a hook sewn to it. But you don't want to use their buckle for a platform. You want an Overcenter Buckle.

Thanks for clarifying that...I didn't catch that two different straps were Frankensteined here. Can you also provide link for the Erikson over center buckle.

I can't find that step with the hook. Strap works website sucks... atleast on my phone lol
