Quick question; In the past I have been using screw in steps as a platform. However, I recently purchased some single Ameristeps and placed them on a single strap. I put knots in between each step to keep them in "position" but I then discovered that on smaller trees I would hit the first knot with the ratchet when tightening it, and it prevented me from getting it tight. When I don't have the knots between the steps they seem to be awfully noisy as they slide together. Any suggestions?

I find that the steps are only really loud when they clank from a long distance. What I do is when I put them into the little bag I carry them in, I slide them all the way to the end so that they are touching. When I pull them out of the bag they are already touching and make little to no noise. I hook up my strap and adjust the steps as needed depending on the size of the tree.

Sounds good. I wasnt sure if anyone had stealth stripped them or put some other creative noise reducer on them.

I don't think anything would hold up too well. Stealth strips are great but if they are at a point of contact they wear off and leave a sticky mess!
