Amsteel holds up really well. ZERO issues using it on a bridge where there's little to no abrasion. Some have experienced abrasion issues using it on climbing sticks. Others have not. Keep in mind, 1/4" Amsteel is rated at 7,700 lbs and is a braid of 12 individual strands. Even if you were a TOTAL IDIOT and didn't notice a few of the 12 strands were completely broken, the rope would still be strong enough to hold your weight. Plus it's cheap enough to where even if you did have to replace it every couple seasons, it's not going to break the bank.
