Another platform

I agree Dave. I do not want anything larger. I went to a Saddle to cut bulk and weight! The small seats are the way to go. I need to weigh mine this afternoon.

I don't think welding a platform on top of a stepp ladder would work. At least not without some modifications. Kenn's setup is pretty much what I was considering building with the LW hand climber seat. I don't see why it wouldn't work as long as all the engineering and angles were right. However, I'm not an engineer, professional angle reproducer, or welder so I might just have to wait until someone with actual talent can put this together.

If I could weld aluminum, I would have started with a LW hand climber.

It takes a special welder but T6061 is supposed to be good for welding? Anyways, I'll look into it this winter - too much to do right now with only 7 days until season :)

Im not a welding expert, but the t6061 as I understand it, is a heat treatment. Welding on a casting requires heating it in an oven, then tig welding it, then allowing it to cool slowly. I can tig weld, but have 2 major issues.
1. I suck at tig welding
2. I don't have a tig welder.

They make a spool gun to weld aluminum with a mig welder, but its pricey.

Oh I'm not welding - I am going to pay to have it done - I work with a lot of guys that fix our jets - pretty sure one of them knows how to weld aluminum..... I wouldn't trust anything I welded - ever. :)
