Anybody replaced their Muddy Pro climbing stick ropes?

Starting to get some fraying to the point they need to be replaced, but also want them longer. Muddy sells them with ropes that are stupid short.

Anybody tackled this already? Wanted to see if any pointers before I start cutting. Curious if the rope is just knotted and then glued into that void, or if there is a post of sort that it is tied around. Hard to tell.

The OEM ropes look to be pretty generic static line that is right at 9mm, so planning to use Canyon C-IV as the replacement unless someone has a better recommendation.

Thanks for any tips.

Here’s a write up I did on mine back when I ran Muddys. I used Sterling 9mm HTP, worked perfect:

Awesome. Thanks for the great info. What knot did you use? Just a simple overhand?

I bought the muddy safeline and cut it up. The rope looked exactly the same as on my muddy pros. There was no epoxy or any other residue on my muddy ropes. I just made an overhand knot, tightened it real tight and shoved it in place where the older rope was.

No issues. And I have somewhere between 8 and 9 feet of rope on each stick.

My muddies are post recall and pre buyout, so the good ones.
