Anyone having issues with EZKut orders?

There is a bolt that the bit flips back on or pivots on. It squeezes the gap. Loosen it a little. Sometimes mine gets too loose and it won’t snap shut so I tighten it a hair, but sometimes I over tighten it and it is as you described. I think I’m describing that bolt correctly. Don’t have it in front of me.

Yup know what you mean. Have taken the bolt totally out and still can’t get the barrel to flip forward without using something to pull / pry it. I have to get the entire slot widened

It will be sweet when they fix it. Came with housing milled too tightly and the bit won’t even open up. Calling them Monday

Mine was that way to start with. It has loosened up over time.

Nope, just used a loop of paracord to get it started out. After 10-20 uses it got to where I can use my finger now.
Only down side is it snaps back in pretty hard when it is tight like that.... makes a loud crack when it does. I had to learn how to press and hold it to keep it silent.

That’s how I’m opening it now - so good to know and yeah I was wondering about the noise closing it up. Thanks for the feedback

Where the skys are so blue!
Mine came in last night. Shout out to the post office for mangling the box so bad it looked like my puppy got hold of it. Good to see my tax dollars at work.

But I digress. Did one test hole and it worked just like folks say. Easy to start and self-cleaning. I'll try another one left handed; didn't seem like it would be that bad.

Any issues opening it?

Yeah that’s what I’m doing - opening and closing it 10-20 times a day - the free cordless bit is going to be huge help.

Yep. Good Lord willing I'll close on a house across the river from several thousand acres of WMA land. I'm thinking I may just drill all the trees, just in case...

That is awesome. Start searching kayak threads on here haha Hope it goes smoothly for you

Oh, I'm familiar with all that.;) It's been a lifelong dream to actually move up there. Currently I have 5 little boats, and we live in an apartment. Give me a yard and waterfront access and I'll have a flotilla. It's a sickness.

Got mine in this morning! I like it. Hunting season going to use the hand drill. Pre season going to use battery drill and the extra bit. Can’t wait. I like the idea of having pre sets ready in the leafiest, most wind advantagous trees out there. Goal for 2018 = silent entry, ready tree for morning peace of mind. No more morning coffee upset stomach of nervousness finding and quietly climbing.

I'm diggin' mine big-time. I picked up 8 bolts this morning from Ace and went playing. Ended up easing down a small creek that runs along a WMA property line. There's a crossing there that always has tracks, and usually a rubline by Christmas. Deer come from the private property (brushy young pines) to the WMA (hardwoods and river swamp). I've never hunted it because you have to bust some THICK brush to get to it, and there's better places to hunt there.

I ended up jumping a doe about 75 yards from the tree I wanted to drill anyway. It's going to be a long summer.

Mine came in yesterday. I tied a paracord loop in the empty hole where the crank handle is. It’s short enough not to get tangled when drilling but long enough to close the bit on and have a little slack to pull it back out with. As long as they hold my weight Well I will preset a pile of trees. Ordering six inch and eight inch bolts. Will cut the thread off the eight inch and experiment with leaving them in the tree. Place enough in a tree here at work and see how they come out after one or two seasons. I will probably camo my bolts that will be left in the tree and shrink wrap a set for pre drilled trees.

They will definitely hold your weight. I stuck mine in a water oak and jumped until the hole wallowed out. Bolt looks brand new. A grade 8 3/8th bolt, to my understanding, has a shear strength of several thousand pounds.

It ain't gonna break.

This. ^^^

You can't shear it off with your body weight.
